pmcTinnitus [CD]
The Legacy Suite is a Compact Disc of music created in the late 1990’s (ambience recorded largely in Manhattan, assembly was in Boston/South Shore) yet it was never widely available before 2021. The encaustic packaging for each CD is unique, abstract color splashes (no big dealeo) with perhaps figurative or painted words, created around 2020!
“Tinnitus” was the artist name as conceived in the late 90’s, but with the 2021 wider release of this work “pmc” has been added (hand drawn) to the artist name on the printed CD— there are so many “Tinniti” on Bandcamp these days!
The music is a mind altering, at times alarming sort of spoken ambience from the lower east side of Manhattan, with a generative electronic sub suite from when Pluto was no question a far-out planet and “generative creation” was topic of music creation.
At present, there are about 100 units available, the late 1990’s CD run was more than that… but most were lost in a house move that still hasn’t settled decades later… or I just haven’t found the rest of ‘em, but I’m pretty sure the one spindle of CDs (~100) is all that remains from the original run!
Like examples of the oil encaustic splashed kraft packaging pictured — exact packaging is unique, but like is as-pictured— you get the picture? What you receive will not be precisely what is pictured (after all that is never the case). Please check Bandcamp for examples of music, the CD is not available through Bandcamp, though digital versions of this release are likely to be over there and, and… and never before pressed/available vinyl will likely get a Bandcamp vinyl run in 2020. Oh, and for retro-redonkulous kicks, perhaps a cassette version of The Legacy Suite will be spun up over at the Bandcamp tooooo… but who knows [warning scarcity come-on follows] you may never get another chance to order this beautiful CD!
